This piece is a reflection on my ancestry—dynamic threads of life, coming and going as time passes, but still contributing to the storied quilt of our lineage. Some are intertwining, familiar and at the forefront of our thoughts everyday. Others are distant or even unknown, lost to our immediate memories. In any case, we keep them with us as we move forward, succeeding or exceeding them by living our individual lives the best that we can.
